Mariska Hargitay: Mischa Barton ‘Knocking It Out Of The Park On ‘SVU’’

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Mariska Hargitay is closing the case on Mischa Barton rumors.
The “Law & Order: SVU” star called reports that the former “The Beautiful Life: TBL” was unprofessional while filming the NBC drama on Monday in New York “fiction.”
“She’s really knocking it out of the park on ‘SUV,’” Mariska told Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson on the red carpet at the 2010 Screen Actors Guild Awards in LA. “Her work has shined… Mischa did some very beautiful, touching work and quite frankly, blew me away.”
The star then turned to Access’ cameras, declaring, “The story is fiction!”
The New York Daily News’ Gatecrasher column previously claimed Mischa had “badly bombed” during filming of a guest spot as a prostitute on the NBC crime show.

As you’ve all no doubt read, the tabloids have decided to write fictional stories about Mischa forgetting lines and not getting along with cast on Law & Order. If you follow the mischa-b Twitter page, you’ll have seen re-tweets that I’ve passed on from crew on the show dimissing these stories. And now Mariska Hargitay has come to Mischa’s defense:

Mischa Barton’s landlord says the actress is refusing to pay rent on her $7,000-a-month apartment in New York City.
Landlord M.R.A. Realties Inc. says in a lawsuit that Barton rebuffed efforts to collect the last three months’ worth of rent on her flat in the trendy Tribeca neighborhood.
Barton’s representatives had no immediate response. The landlord wants Barton to pay the rent and legal fees.
The 23-year-old Barton also lives in Los Angeles. The lawsuit filed Thursday says her one-year lease on the Manhattan apartment began in September.
At the time, she was in “The Beautiful Life,” a CW series about the New York modeling world. The show was canceled in September.
Barton rose to fame playing Marissa Cooper on Fox’s teen drama “The O.C.”
