Mischa’s TBL co-star Ashley Madekwe twittered this pic with this text: “Mischa and I love you all. Look at our angry faces!!! So sad you won’t get to see the rest of the show. It ROCKED! Xo”
We have the first casualty of the fall season.
After two episodes, The CW has canceled Ashton Kutcher’s scripted drama “The Beautiful Life.”
Wednesday’s episode was seen by just 1 million viewers and generated a 0.5 rating in the adult demo.
The CW’s freshman revamp of “Melrose Place” has had difficulty achieving liftoff as well, but Thursday night’s “Vampire Diaries” has been performing strong. Last night’s third “Diaries” episode grew in the adult demo despite facing increased competition.
The CW has not yet announced a replacement for the “Beautiful Life” slot. The new reality shows won’t be ready until January. One option is airing “Melrose Place” encores (like the way the network double-pumped “90210” last season). Another option, less likely, is to bring “Smallville” back into the midweek mix. “Smallville” was shifted to Friday nights for its final season and debuts this evening.
ETA: Production has been shut down on the show and there are currently no plans to air the episodes that were filmed. Melrose Place repeats will take TBL’s slot. Zap2it
The ratings for this episode were even worse than last week (with just over a million people watching). It doesn’t look like The CW can afford to leave the show on the air. So they’ll either have to pull it completely or test another timeslot. For now though, episode 3 “The Beautiful Lie” is still due to air next Wednesday.
Candids of Mischa filming interior shots for a Max Azria show on the set of TBL have been uploaded. Mischa looks AMAZING in her Herve Leger dress.
“The Beautiful Triangle” (CONTENT RATING TBD) (HDTV) – October 07th, 9/8c only on The CW
ED QUINN (“TRUE BLOOD”) GUEST STARS Raina (Sara Paxton) and Cole (Nico Tortorella) are nervous about the authenticity of their chemistry during their new campaign but loosen up after a little pep talk. Chris (Ben Hollingsworth) grows increasingly uncomfortable with Raina and Cole’s working relationship. Claudia’s (Elle Macpherson) husband, Richard (guest star Ed Quinn, “True Blood”), is interested in hiring Sonja (Mischa Barton) to be the face of his cosmetics company’s reinvention campaign. In need of cash, Chris takes a job in Alex’s (Billy Magnussen) bar, and Marissa (Ashley Madekwe) continues to help attract a crowd at the club. Isaac (Corbin Bleu) starts spending time with Hayley (guest star Natalie Floyd) a new model at the residence, which makes Vivienne (Jaime Murray, “Dexter”) jealous. Michael Fields directed the episode written by Lisa Henthorn & Jonathon Roessler.

Here is the second promo for episode 2 of The Beautiful Life: TBL titled “The Beautiful Aftermath”. The promo doesn’t feature Mischa, but I like how the first promo is based around the more snarky and scandalous side of the show whereas this promo is more of the softness and the heart. Remember, TBL airs Wednesdays at 9/8c on The CW.
And a slight bit of good news regarding the ratings, TBL had over 1 million viewers sample the show on Friday and then again on Sunday. This bested the repeat results of Melrose Place and now means that potentially 3.5 million people sampled the show over its 3 airings. This data does not include internet viewing or DVR results, so the cumulative audience will increase again. We just have to hope that enough people watch the show live on Wednesday’s, cause that’s when it really counts.
Similar to the promo below, this one just has a few more scenes in it:
