You know how gourmet food is kind of an acquired taste a lot of the time (à la steak tartare, a dish made of raw beef) well it seems these photos have followed suit. They’ve caused a bit of an online controversy with extremist animal group PETA even releasing a statement. But clearly nobody got the memo since more photos have shown up online.
Brazil fans go hard!
So one day out of the blue I start getting emails with the subject “Mischa Barton” Upon opening the emails I realize they are from her fan club in Brazil they were asking me to shoot her the emails didnt stop for almost 2 weeks at the same time they were emailing me they were emailing one of her best friends about me I randomly met her friend and we talked about it a few days later this happened… She was amazing to work with and I cant wait to do it again. Anyone in London come to my Gallery at Imitate Modern 27a Devonshire ST wed night at 6pm!
And via The Daily Mail:
The accompanying press release describes the star’s appearance in the photos as ‘naked, lipsticked, and icily coiffed like a Duran Duran-era object of desire.’
For her part, Barton jokingly describes working with Tyler Shields on the shoot as ‘terrible, horrible!’
She adds: ‘First he covered me in milk, then he rolled me around in flour and made me slap my face with a steak! No, it was amazing!’
Meanwhile, Shields explains that he got the idea about working with Barton through a mutual friend.
‘I randomly met her friend and we talked about it. A few days later this happened,’ he says.
‘She was amazing to work with. I cant wait to do it again.’
Shields is famous for his work with celebrities including Lindsay Lohan, Glee star Dianna Agron, Alex Pettyfer and Hayden Panettiere who strike a number of provocative poses complete with knives, blood and guns.
Tyler Shields will unveil a new exhibit in London this week with UK-based artist Maximilian Wiedemann, showing at Imitate Modern from October 13 to November 13.
An additional photo of Mischa taken by Kevin Morosky has been added. This is back from the Dazed Digital story. Thanks to Jen for the tip!
Visit the Kevin Morosky Facebook page for more on his work.
I’ve also added an additional and stunning shot of Mischa from Jory Cordy. I’m not sure if this photo is part of the 2010 editorial as it looks like a different photo session to me, but I left it in the same album anyway.
The photoshoots section is currently being reorganized so its a bit of a mess at the moment. There are several albums that also need to be updated with a few additional shots so I’ll hopefully get to fixing it all up during the week.
As you’ve no doubt heard by now, it seems that Mischa herself has finally joined the Twitter world. You can find the page @MischAmazing. Since the account is unverified, we can’t be completely sure if the account actually belongs to Mischa. But the photos and tweets that have been posted seem pretty legit. I guess only time will tell. Maybe Mischa can take a photo of herself holding up a sign saying “@MischaAmazing is Me” or something.
Anyway, here are the photos that have so far been shared through the Twitter stream.
The photos aren’t technically a photoshoot, but I feel like more thought and care is put into these pictures than just standard candids. So I’ve put them in the photoshoots section.
I’m sure most of you remember Ashley Madekwe, Mischa’s co-star from the short lived CW show The Beautiful Life. Ashley has been running a fashion blog that has increasingly developed a cult following. And this week, Ashley has posted a little photoshoot co-starring Mischa that the girl’s themselves shot. It is ridiculously awesome and puts some professional shoots to shame.
