I posted about Mischa’s involvement in this film in the development update a few days ago, but now the role is excitingly receiving some proper press courtesy of Variety.
And how awesome are the pictures showcased above of Mischa’s transformation into other memorable icons from the glory days of Hollywood and beyond. We can’t wait to see Mischa transformed into Jean Harlow.
Here is the story:
Mischa Barton has been cast as Jean Harlow in the biopic “By Love Reclaimed” for ThunderBall Films and Mania Entertainment.
Nuala Barton and Mario Domina are producing “By Love Reclaimed.” Adrian Finkelstein and Valerie Fanich will exec produce.
The script, written by Finkelstein, centers on the 1932 scandal in which MGM producer and Harlow’s husband Paul Bern was found shot to death in their Benedict Canyon Home — two months after Harlow had married him.
Harlow, one of the biggest stars of the 1930s, died in 1937 of kidney failure.
Barton, who is currently in London filming “The Hoarder,” recently wrapped the indie feature “Starcrossed.” She is repped by Artist International and Adam Trahan.
Check out the first teaser trailer from Mischa’s upcoming role in Zombie Killers: Elephant’s Graveyard. The film also stars Billy Zane and Dee Wallace.

The town is enclosed wide fencing that stretches miles around its perimeter. What lies beyond the fence is something awful, in the deep forests surrounding the town. Humans die but keep moving & shamble the landscape looking to spread their infection in a grisly, horrific way. The community is guarded by a band of young people raised since children to be military combatants. Under the leadership of vet Seiler (Billy Zane), they are known by the community as “Zombie Killers” a negative term used behind their backs.
Ian Sommers tends to his dying mother Sharon (Dee Wallace) while having a semblance of normal life with girlfriend Nikki (Gabrielle Stone).
Rory Gower and his young wife Toni (Mischa Barton) search for a reason behind the plague while Seiler and his Young soldiers discover something far worse coming For Elwood. Something that may target them or put them in the way of an “Elephant’s Graveyard” and Hell.
Just wanted to do a quick wrap-up of all the movies currently in development with Mischa attached. As we’ve learnt over the years, in development doesn’t mean that a film is moving forward to production, so just think of them all as strictly possibilities.

Chilling, archetypal, epic love story about an infamous pact made between a young woman and the devil in the sixteenth century that plays out today against the backdrop of social media.
A Study in Red: The Secret Journal of Jack the Ripper (trilogy)
Also includes Legacy of the Ripper and Requiem for the Ripper
This dark psychological thriller tells of the incredible and terrifying events that surround psychiatrist Robert Cavendish when he inherits a decrepit, yellowed journal from his family. The journal appears to have been written by the infamous Whitechapel murderer, who terrorized the streets of the East End of London in 1888. Filled with dramatic imagery and an underlying sense of foreboding and danger, this compelling novel will certainly lend itself well to the transformation from page to screen.

London-born Barton says she was flummoxed by life in L.A. during the Fox melodrama, and that she prefers
working in indie films and theater
It’s been a long strange trip from “The O.C.” for Mischa Barton.
The classically trained, London-born, New York-raised actress — whose range of credits in theater and indie films barely survived her brush with teen stardom on the hit Fox network melodrama — says she’s much happier to be flying under the radar.
“That was a foreign world to me, and I didn’t particularly enjoy it or feel much at home there,” says Barton, 27, of the show that aired from 2003 to 2007. She now stars in the dark, brooding and cerebral romantic ghost story “I Will Follow You Into the Dark,” opening Friday.
The actress, who got her start in heavy dramas (including the critically lauded “Lawn Dogs,” with Sam Rockwell) and drew critical attention for a scary turn in 1999’s “The Sixth Sense,” was thrown into a reality show-like world as “The O.C.” made her a star. Her character, Marissa Cooper, was a prototype of teen angst in the new millennium.
