Here is the updated sales poster for Mischa’s upcoming film Into the Dark aka I Will Follow You Into the Dark.
I’m kinda disappointed they are going with “Into the Dark” as the title on these sales posters. “I Will Follow You Into the Dark” is a lot less generic sounding and is also a Death Cab for Cutie song title which is a little connection to The O.C.

This has been an odd title to follow, lol! I think we first heard of Mischa joining this project back in February 2009. Everything seemed to be going fine until things stopped and everything went silent. Then last year, another article comes out announcing Willa Holland, Drew Van Acker, Rumer Willis and Matt Dallas as Mischa’s co-stars. Again, it feels like things have picked up. Then shortly after that, silence. Only this time the project disappears from IMDb altogether seemingly indicating that The Sicnece of Cool was not meant to be.
But today, a new article comes out with a new write-up on financing and a new cast member: Nick Krause. Since this new article only talks about Mischa and Nick, I’ve got no idea if any of the original cast or crew are still behind the movie. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see. And we’ll also have to wait and see if this new article leads to an actual production commitment.
As an aside, the article indicates that Mischa will possibly be starring in another movie called Love Blurs Boundaries. Read the full article below:
Bal has role on new film
A PLYMOUTH man has bagged a role in an American movie.
But Bal Kumar won’t be on screen – he’ll be organising the finance for teen comedy The Science of Cool.
Bal, a director and writer, is the British producer for the film which will star Mischa Barton (of US and UK TV hit The OC) and Nick Krause (who played alongside George Clooney in Oscar-nominated comedy-drama The Descendants).
He hopes a spin-off from the US job will help push his feature directorial debut in a personal project, UK drama Love Blurs Boundaries.
Bal, 40, said: “The connection came because of connections through my film.
“They are looking to finance The Science of Cool here, but it will be shot in America.
“I also have Mischa reading for my film and the US connection means it will have a distributor there.”
He describes the new comedy as much in the spirit of Weird Science, the 1985s hit in which two teens create a real woman using a computer program. The Science of Cool has a couple of science geeks having their socially inept lives transformed by a laboratory formula which transforms them into hunks. But their problems are not over.
The budget is tiny by US movie standards, but the money required, up to £1.75m, dwarfs that needed for Love Blurs Boundaries. Bal is about half way there to the £500,000 needed for the British film which he plans to begin shooting this summer with a cast including Wil Johnson (Waking The Dead) and Kayvan Novak (George Clooney vehicle Syriana and award-winning British comedy Four Lions).
He describes the British project as a 21st century take on Romeo and Juliet with a cross-cultural theme.
Bal’s previous projects include several short films, with writing and director credits, among them Mother’s Journey about two migrants’ move to Britain from India.
His work has attracted international attention and been shown at the London Film festival.

been involved as a producer and co-producer on larger projects including Cuckoo (with Richard E Grant) and Hard Shoulder (starring Wil Johnson), experience which has helped with financing and casting Love Blurs Boundaries.
He loves on the Hoe and divides his time between completing a PhD on the representation of minorities in cinema and teaching drama and performance to disabled adults in the city.
“The Science of Cool is so exciting,” says Bal. “This could be a career changer for me.”
Epic Pictures have uploaded a trailer of Mischa’s upcoming supernatural thriller Into the Dark AKA I Will Follow You Into the Dark. The film also stars Ryan Eggold and Leah Pipes. As we know, this movie just finished filming a few weeks ago so it’s a huge surprise that a trailer is already up and running. Check it out below!
Who would you follow into the dark?
A young woman (Mischa Barton) who is severely depressed after the deaths of both her parents retreats within herself, only to be drawn out of her depression by an unexpected romance with a man named Adam (Ryan Eggold). After Adam mysteriously disappears into the depths of a haunted apartment building, she vows to pursue him, even if it means crossing into the world of the supernatural.

Supernatural Thriller, Thriller
This looks really cool, reminds me a little of a recent-ish movie called Insidious (starring Rose Byrne and Patrick Wilson) which I thought was a really effective thriller/horror.
Bryce Clark took to the Ben Banks movie blog to fill us in on the situation with the changing titles of Ben Banks aka The Misadventures of Ben Banks aka Beauty & the Least. Here is the post:
There is a lot about the movie business that we are learning as we go through this process. We signed with an international sales agent and watching them sell the movie to overseas markets is eye opening.
They use different titles to attract different buyers from various territories… THE MISADVENTURES OF BEN BANKS and BEAUTY AND THE LEAST – it’s weird to watch. I mean I’m expecting to see the movie called SMOKING HIGH MAN FINDS LOVE…
No I’m kidding!
We’ve had to let go a little bit as first time filmmakers – but not one frame of the movie has been touched. It is the movie I made. It’s the movie I wanted to make. It’s just being packaged and sold in a way that is in line with what attracts foreign buyers. And I get that. Usually this happens after a movie’s North American presence has been established, but we’re doing it in reverse (as I guess more and more indie movies are doing)
It is cool to see the movie getting out there…
When the movie is released in North America it will be BEN BANKS!
Here is the revised poster for Beauty & the Least aka The Misadventures of Ben Banks.
Finally we have some promotional material for Mischa’s upcoming romantic comedy titled Beauty & the Least. Most of us will know this movie under the old title of Ben Banks or The Misadventures of Ben Banks.
GENRE: Romantic Comedy
CAST: Mischa Barton (TV’s: THE OC)
SYNOPSIS: When they say “love is blind,” they must have been talking about Amy and Ben. Amy (Mischa Barton, TV’s “The O.C.”, “Apartment 1303 3D”) is a beautiful young woman with a mysterious past. Ben (Ben Banks) is a scruffy slacker, whose only ambition seems to be avoiding growing up. However, Amy seems something in Ben that Ben doesn’t see in himself, which gives Ben the confidence to make something of his life. The power of love (and a beautiful girl!) shows Ben that being a grown-up isn’t such a bad thing after all.

According to IMDb, Offline is scheduled to screen in March 2012 so if that date is accurate, we should have a trailer come out pretty soon.
And while I’m on the topic of Facebook, I’ve started a page of Mischa-B.com so go on and visit I’m one of the few people left in the world who has previously never used Facebook, so you’ll have to bare with me while I learn to use it properly for updates.
It’s still a little while to go until the street date for You and I on DVD (which is slated for January 31st, 2012), but for those of us who can’t wait to see Mischa, You and I is currently available as a digital rental on both the Amazon Instant Video and iTunes streaming services. The price for the movie begins at $3.99 for SD and moves up to $4.99 for HD.
