Mischa for Bvlgari and Save the Children

Bvlgari has chosen to celebrate its 125th anniversary by participating wholeheartedly in Save the Children’s Rewrite the Future campaign. This campaign is aimed at providing education and thus a better future to millions of children suffering from the consequences of war and conflict. Bvlgari has decided to support the campaign by raising 10 million euros by the end of 2009. Of which 1 million has already been donated.

Now there’s no excuse for lacklustre locks

HEALTHY shiny hair is always an attractive feature and with so many nuturing formulations of shampoo and conditioner available there’s really no excuse for lacklustre locks.

You don’t have to spend a fortune or have the bank account of a celebrity either with many products costing just a couple of quid.

Take the newly-revamped Herbal Essences for example. It’s Hello Hydration range has managed to pick up one of Hollywood’s top young actresses as a fan, which proves even the rich and privileged like a bargain now and again.

Mischa Barton has admitted to using the Hello Hydration pairing and can’t praise it highly enough.

Mischa said: “I’ve been using Hello Hydration with coconut and orchid extracts because my haior’s fine and it can get a bit dry, so the fact that it boosts the moisture in my hiar is great for me. I just love it.”

London-born Mischa, best known for starring in California soap opera The OC, added a touch of real Hollywood glamour to the red carpet at the BAFTAS earlier this year, wearing a stunning floor-length dress but still maintaining her trademark beach-babe boho look.

Ben Cooke, celebrity hairstylist and Herbal Essences spokesman said: “Her loose curls were created using large heated tongs and gently combed through. To help replace the moisture lost from using heated appliances and to provide high shine I suggest using a hydrating shampoo and conditioner like Herbal Essences Hello Hydration.”

On With The Sale

FOLLOWING in the footsteps of Katherine Jenkins and Kim Cattrall, actress and former Vogue cover girl Mischa Barton will this weekend open the Harrods summer sale.

“It’s really exciting and it should be really fun,” Barton, who also has her own handbag line, told VOGUE.COM ahead of the renowned shopping event. “Harrods is iconic and a great buy during a blowout sale is a girl’s dream come true. That said, not only is it an honour to be asked to open its annual sale, but something I’m truly looking forward to.”

And what about sale-shopping tips?
“Look for staples,” advises the actress – noting a Topshop leather jacket to be one of her own best sale buys.

Arriving in horse-drawn carriage, Barton will be welcomed by Mohamed Al Fayed before taking the all-important tour of the store.

“I love London style – it’s nice and eclectic. I see, in my future, spending a lot of time in the UK,” added Barton.

Mischa has taken part in a new campaign for Save the Children and Bvlgari in this new video and photoshoot shot by Fabrizio Ferri. The video features a plethora of other celebrities including Willem Dafoe, Terrence Howard, Ben Stiller, Isabella Rossellini, Ginnifer Goodwin and Olivia Wilde. Check it out below.

Mischa Barton to Open The Harrods Summer Sale

Mischa Barton, the English American film, television, and stage actress, perhaps best known for her role as Marissa Cooper in the American television series The O.C. and hailed as one of People Magazine’s 50 Most Beautiful People, will open the Harrods Summer Sale at 9.00am on Saturday 27th June 2009.

Mischa will be welcomed to the store by Harrods Chairman, Mohamed Al Fayed. After the traditional countdown to the opening of the doors at 9.00am, Mr Al Fayed will take Mischa on a tour of the store’s best bargains.

Speaking ahead of the event Mischa said, “Harrods is iconic and a great buy during a blowout sale is a girl’s dream come true. That said, not only is it an honour to be asked to open their annual sale, but something I’m truly looking forward to.”

The jobless It girl says her favourite celebrity style icons are Brits. Now that I like.

The former OC girl – about to launch a handbag range (who needs to act, eh?) – said: “I’ve got friends in London who I think are very fashionable. Girls like Pixie Geldof. And Noel Fielding looks so fantastic.

“They get away with it and they get to be themselves. It’s far more interesting and iconic. In the States they don’t like it when you look too different.”

Mischa Barton’s art attack

Mischa Barton loves throwing paint parties.

The former ‘O.C.’ actress enjoys inviting friends over to her New York home to create unusual art pieces by throwing colours around. She said: “We mess around and throw paint on canvases. It doesn’t have to be serious. Art is about enjoying yourself, a moment in time. That is the most exciting stuff.”

Mischa is predominantly based in Paris, France, and says the people she has met there have encouraged her to pursue her artistic ambitions. She said: “Paris is such an inspiring city. A group of friends there have brought out my creative side like 10 times more in terms of doing art, paintings, sculpture.”

Mischa’s next small screen project sees her play a model in ‘A Beautiful Life’, in a TV show produced by Ashton Kutcher. The series is based on Ashton’s early experiences as a male model and is set to air in the US later this year.
