It seems that Times Online from the UK has leaked news that Mischa will apparently be the new face of Herbal Essences from January 2009.
“While the LA babe Mischa Barton confessed at a Herbal Essences event (she is the new face of the brand from January) that her only beauty disasters had come courtesy of “fake tanners — I hate the stuff!”
We obviously won’t know if this is complete truth or how large her role will be until an official press announcement is released but nevertheless this is extremely exciting news! Thanks to Maz for the tip.
How did Mischa Barton handbags come about?
I was approached by a manufacturer in Hong Kong who was keen to work with me, and I was attracted to the fact that they would let me design under my own name. The team was very open-minded, and let me be as funky or classic as I wanted with my designs. At the moment the collection is just available in the UK and Republic of Ireland and I like the exclusivity of that. Spring 09 is the second season I have designed for, and I feel people have more confidence in what I do now.
What can we expect from the brand for spring 09?
There are more wallets and purses this season and I’ve been working on improving the clasps. There are more studs and metalwork, which are inspired by catwalk designs. One of my favourite designs is a classic black handbag with an embossed logo. I like understated pieces.
Where do you get your inspiration?
I collaborate with other people when we are choosing fabrics and designs, so it is quite a back and forth process, but my input comes from the vintage and classic bags I own, and translating that into something modern and affordable. In terms of the brand’s flower logo, that was something I came up with when I was doodling. I think it’s quite 1970s, a bit Biba, and it shows the bag is a Mischa Barton bag without me having my name splashed all over it.

Photos of a seriously stunning Mischa at the Grand Opening of Atlantis, The Palm Resort, Dubai (United Arab Emirates) have been uploaded. So far only a handful of shots are up but more will be added shortly. The following is an extract about the event with guests including Oprah Winfrey, Charlize Theron and Denzel Washington:
The Atlantis Hotel’s exclusive opening party on Thursday evening is set to break records as the world’s most exclusive private party and will feature singer Kylie Minogue. The one-night celebration is due to bring the world’s first man-made palm island to a complete standstill as the VIP guests are chauffeur-driven to the venue. Palm residents have even been urged to return to villas and apartments by 2pm to avoid being denied entry to their homes.
At a cost of $20million (Dh73 million) the lavish party will play host to around 2,500 celebrity and royal guests and a number of VIPs from the UAE. Created by Grucci, the company responsible for the fireworks display at the opening ceremony of this year’s Olympic Games in Beijing, the Atlantis display will be visible from space and will feature giant flowers, palm trees and meteors in the UAE national colours. More than 200 pyrotechnics experts have been working on the project for more than 3,000 hours, which will see rockets launched from 716 individual spots.
To put the display into perspective, 100,000 specially-designed pyrotechnic devices will be fired in comparison to 30,000 at the Beijing Olympics — meaning the show will be just over three times bigger.

Kylie Minogue is lacing up ahead of one of the biggest paydays of her career as she becomes an Arabian princess tonight.
The Australian chart-topper finally settled on £1.3million ($2million) to entertain Arab royalty and celebrity friends at the grand opening of Atlantis The Palm, Dubai.
Her 2,000 guests are set to include Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson, Mischa Barton, Gerrard Butler, Robert De Niro, Charlize Theron, Agyness Deyn and Lily Allen, who will all be flown out at the cost of £5,000 a head for the £16million party.
The partygoers will be treated to a lavish dinner that starts at 9.30pm before Kylie bursts on to the stage from the front of the 1,500-room complex just before midnight.
