A video of Mischa’s trip to Africa as an Ambassador for Save the Children has surfaced on Youtube. Thanks to Amira for the tip! Check it out below.
I picked up my copy of the Fall/Winter issue of InStyle Beauty Germany today which features Mischa on the cover and in a small editorial inside. So, scans from the issue have been uploaded to the gallery.
Global dignitaries, activists and celebrities including Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah of Jordan, Emeritus Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Annie Lennox, John Legend, Rahul Bose, Anqelique Kidjo, Scarlett Johannsson, Missy Higgins, Emmanuel Jal, Wyclef Jean and Mischa Barton are calling out to leaders to keep their Millennium Development Goal promises, through the international release of a new song by Black-Eyed Peas frontman will.i.am.
Under the umbrella of the Global Call to Action Against Poverty alliance, in my name will be released September 25, 2008, as the UN meets for an emergency poverty summit in New York. The release also marks the launch of a major global campaign action, also called in my name, challenging people all over the world to hold to account their leaders for their poverty promises.
‘In My Name’ is organized by the Global Call to Action Against Poverty (GCAP) with support from Save the Children, Oxfam International and Comic Relief.
I found some candids on my hard drive that I completely forgot to add last year, so here finally are candids of Mischa and Jamie Dornan leaving Braxton Academy after watching The Arcade Fire. These candids were taken in London back in March 2007.

Today she’s just come back from South Africa, where she visited a school in Soweto as part of her role as ambassador for Save the Children. She describes the trip as “life-changing” and her work for the charity as a “calling”.
“I went to see this little boy, Tembinkosi,” she tells me. “He was so sweet and shy. He was only eight . . . He has no toys. He sleeps on the floor in a room full of dirt and he only gets one meal a day. It was terrible. But if I can raise money, that will make a difference.”
So another photogenic star uses vulnerable children in Africa for a profile boost between film projects? “Well, if cynical journalists think that, I think that’s pretty jaded and sad,” Barton retorts. “If someone takes the time to actually go, I don’t think people sitting on their bums writing articles have the right to say anything, actually.”
