Why did actress Mischa Barton go blonde?
“It’s just perfect and handy for the summer,” the 22-year-old told Usmagazine.com at Project Malibu Beach House in Malibu, CA Saturday.
“It’s just temporary,” she explained. “I’m about to go off into other roles and I’ll probably have to completely change it up again.”
Barton – best known for her role on The O.C. – has six films in the works, including You and I, Homecoming, and Bhopal: A Prayer for Rain.
Another random gallery update with some various photos uploaded. Here is the rundown:

Been a bit quiet on the Mischa front lately so hopefully some more exciting stuff starts to happen soon. I mentioned a couple of rumoured movie roles a little while back and now both Bhopal: A Prayer for Rain and Upstate are listed on Mischa’s IMDB page. There hasn’t been any new info on Bhopal in a while, but the latest news on Upstate is the rumour that Gossip Girl’s Chace Crawford has joined the cast. I guess only time will tell for both roles.
And speaking of roles, some candids from July 31st have been uploaded of Mischa at a business meeting at the Sofitel hotel. She’s holding an unknown script in her hands! Also uploaded are additional shots from Mischa’s photocall for Closing the Ring in Japan. Thanks to Marie.
As mentioned previously, Mischa graces the pages of InStyle Magazine in the UK for a multi-page fashion spread. The issue featuring Diane Kruger on the front cover (pictured left) hits newsstands today! With thanks to the InStyle team, we have a two photo preview of the shoot and an extract from the corresponding article which is featured below. You can also check out a behind the scenes video by heading on over to the InStlye website.
Before taking a well earned break from her recent roles on the big screen, Mischa is spending a day with In Style modelling the new season’s catwalk trends, from futuristic tailoring to feathers. She tells us that her own wardrobe collection is just as eclectic: “I live in vintage shift dresses or jeans, but there’s also a bit of everything, from designer to H&M, and, like, 50 pairs of shoes – that’s not so bad, right?”
Bags, though, are her weakness: in fact she’s just designed her own mid-priced range. “It was so fun and creative – you sketch them and they send back a computer image,” she says. “And I loved the idea behind Kate Moss for Topshop – that your fans can afford to buy your designs.”
So are there any plans for her own fashion line? “That would be cool,” she nods, before adding endearingly, “but you have to really know what you are doing.”
