» Teen Choice Awards
The second wave of TCA nominations were just announced, and Mischa is nominated in two categories. The first is arguably the biggest award a female actress can win at the TCAs and that is the award for Choice TV Actress. The second nomination is for Choice Red Carpet Icon. Let’s get those votes in, it would be a nice way for Mischa to end her OC run by taking home a fan voted award. Click here to vote. Vote with as many email addresses as you have.

» “The O.C.” will have fewer fall episodes

The fourth season of ‘The O.C.,’ Fox`s show about Southern California teens, will start later and probably end earlier with just 16 episodes in 2006-07. A typical season is 22 episodes, zap2it.com reported. In its first three seasons, ‘The O.C.’ never shot fewer than 24 episodes. Fox could still add more episodes, a network spokesman said.

The show`s characters will be changing, with several — Ben McKenzie, Adam Brody and Rachel Bilson — going off to college. Mischa Barton, who played Marissa Cooper, left the show when her character died. Now her younger sister Caitlin, played by Willa Holland, will go live with her mother.

Scheduled on Thursdays at 9 p.m., ‘The O.C.’ will be up against three top hits — CBS` ‘CSI,’ ABC`s ‘Grey`s Anatomy’ and NBC`s ‘Deal or No Deal.’

» A message from Mischa + updates on the projects

I wanted to share with you all an email I received from Mischa and her mom:

Just like to say thank you to you guys for a great site, and for the Save Marissa campaign and all the nice letters, it’s all very touching, and I am nothing without my fans! Anyway, THANKS, Mischa & Nuala Barton

And a quick update on the projects we are currently running. There has been a slight change of plans with the “Friday Night Project” card. Due to copyright issues (a store bought card can’t be show on TV without licensing) and time constraints (it needs to be there by this week), we are going to send them the list of words and signatures via email and they will present it to her. That means you have an extra day, so if you haven’t sent in yours yet, please email to thankyou@mischa-b.com one word that comes to mind when you think of Mischa, and your name. That’s it. Messages will not be included in this project. Just a word and your name. We’ve gotten close to 200 signatures so far but i know there are a lot more fans out there. So send in your submission!

Regarding the scrapbook, the deadline is approaching. I must have all submissions by Saturday, July 8. Which means if you are planning to mail it out to me, please do so ASAP. Many of you have asked me to let you know if I received your submission. I dont really have time to do that, but within a few days I will post a list of all the people I’ve received letters from so you can make sure your name is on there. If you need a reminder about what and where to send things, read about the project here.

That’s all for now, I hope the 2 projects we are running simultaneously arent too confusing.

» Miss Mischa & Lord Richard

Mischa Barton, recently departed teen idol from Fox’s The O.C., plays the wide-eyed, freckled ingenue Ethel Ann, the love interest of three small-town lads, (David Alpay, Stephen Amell and Gregory Smith, all Toronto-born), all of whom can’t wait to get into the thick of war.

The £11.5-million ($23.5-million) film is an Irish/English/Canadian co-production that takes advantage of Hamilton’s relatively low-traffic airfield. It’s described by Toronto co-producer Martin Katz (Hotel Rwanda) as a multigenerational love story in which “geography, physical distance, race, religion and vanity” interfere. In the hands of the Academy Award-winning Attenborough, who turns 83 in August, is a cast that includes Shirley MacLaine (playing Ethel Ann later in life), Pete Postlethwaite, Brenda Fricker, Christopher Plummer and Neve Campbell. » A pre-present present for Mischa
I received an email from one of the producers of the UK TV show called “The Friday Night Project” letting me know that Mischa will be a guest on the show on July 7th. He read about the Thank You Project and thought it would be a nice idea to present the scrapbook to her on the show. Unfortunately, it wont be ready in time, but we’d like to take this opportunity to publicly show Mischa our appreciation. So, we are going to send in a giant thank you card “signed” by all of you. If you would like your name to appear on the card, all you have to do is send an email to thankyou@mischa-b.com with your name and one word that comes to mind when you think of Mischa. That’s all you need to send in. The card will be going out tomorrow (Wednesday) so if you would like to be included, send in your info ASAP. Sorry for the short notice! Please note: This has nothing to do with the scrapbook. That is a separate project that will be sent to her within a few weeks.
