MISCHA Barton is renowned for her role as Marissa Cooper in the fan favourite sitcom The O.C.
But with the pressure of being an actress comes the pressure of looking good and dressing well all the time.
In an exclusive interview with OK! Online, the 28-year-old beauty revealed: “Yes, there is a certain amount of pressure. But I think you always just dress for you.”
And of course, since starring in The O.C. Mischa has had to develop her own sense of style outside the teen sitcom character, having just been appointed head judge of VAPESTICK Style icon.
“When you’re playing a character, the wardrobe is a huge extension of that,” the star explained.
“I was pretty far from Marissa Cooper, so the wardrobe is definitely something that helped with that character.”
But when it comes to choosing fashion or acting, Mischa revealed: “They’re totally different parts of my life.
“First and foremost I’m an actress. It’s what I genuinely enjoy.”
And we’ll hopefully be seeing a lot more of the actress as she’s set to star in some other films: “I’ve done a few films this year so those are coming up next.
“There’s a couple of other things, coming up, scripts that I’m really excited about,” Mischa finished.
Well, we personally cannot wait.

Mischa Barton gave up caring what people thought of her a long time ago after admitting if she knew what she does now she would have never set out for teen stardom in The O.C.
The 28-year-old issued a warning to other young Hollywood stars to keep their love lives under cover during an exclusive chat with Metro.
‘Probably not,’ the British-American star mulled on whether she’d take up the role again after her life derailed following fame in The O.C.
‘It’s something I came so close to not doing. I had a really great thing with film. People say be grateful for what you have but it certainly not the kind of thing I was expecting it to be…I’ve kind of seen it all.’
The aftermath saw her arrested for drink-driving and claims she was sectioned in 2009 following a trip to the dentist.
Asked if she cared about her reputation, Barton exclaimed: ‘Clearly not!’
‘That would really do your head in if you were thinking like that. I just like to be seen for the hard-working actress that I am and not for a bunch of extraneous press. In general people are super quick to harbour on the gossipy stuff and less on how much work goes into it.’
She admitted: ‘It’s tough. It’s really tough when you are young in this business. People blow a lot of hot air at you. That’s the main thing. Keep your head on your shoulders – even when you think your head is on your shoulders, sometimes it isn’t!’
‘It’s just one of those things when you are growing under a microscope and changing and that evolution is human. That humanity aspect means flaws – which people don’t want to see. Keep your private life private to the greatest extent that you can,’ she warned. ‘People have this insatiable appetite for it – so how far can you go with that?’
Barton told how it has been hard not to lose her cool over the jibes over her chaotic world.
‘There’s tough balance in being a nice person about it and becoming too closed off and not nice,’ she said.’
The star also insisted she had earned her stripes after spelling out the road to fame is a trudge.
‘People think they are overnight successes even when tonnes of blood, sweat and tears and years of ground work goes into it,’ she explained. ‘Which I find strange about society in general. They think it’s an instant thing where you work really hard for these things.’
Mischa Barton is the lead judge of VAPESTICK Style Icon – a nationwide campaign to find the county’s most stylish e-cig vaper launched by leading e-cigarette brand VAPESTICK®.

USA Today has shared the trailer from one of Mischa’s upcoming movies Mining for Ruby.
It appears as though the movie will be available for download via VOD from August 1st. Mischa only shot for this movie for a very short time, so it appears that she’ll likely only have limited screen time.
Mining for Ruby unearths love, Alaskan style.
Directed by Zoe Quist, the indie drama — on video on demand beginning Aug. 1 — stars Daniel Ponickly as a widower named Jack who’s in a downward spiral of depression, and Antoinette Kalaj is Ruby, a grad student studying environmental engineering in the 49th state, where the movie was actually filmed.
After incessant persuading from his sister (Mischa Barton), Jack finally leaves the cozy confines of his cabin in Alaska and luckily meets and falls quickly for Ruby. However, this love story is not destined to be an easy one — she not only has a psycho ex (Jonathan Bennett) who likes a good scrap but Ruby also throws the whole town into a tizzy when, against the advice of her professor (Billy Zane), she inadvertently gets embroiled in a poisonous waste crisis.

Here is the teaser poster for Mischa’s upcoming role in Cloudland co-starring Drew Fuller, Katie Parker and Adi Shankar.
Whether or not they’re are familiar with his name, horror fans definitely know the output of screenwriter Jeffrey Reddick. Having conceptualized the FINAL DESTINATION franchise as well as written the scripts for TAMARA and the 2008 remake of DAY OF THE DEAD, Reddick now hopes to further his prolific presence in the horror genre with his newest project, CLOUDLAND.
Aiming to become the feature length debut of short-form director Alex Bram, CLOUDLAND follows an investigative reporter on the heels of a cult’s prophecy following the murder of his young sister, which may be paranormal in nature. Reddick is overseeing the production as executive producer, with writing duties going to Bram and Martin Aguilera.
CLOUDLAND also sports an impressive cast, including Drew Fuller (CHARMED), Adi Shankar (THE VOICES), Katie Parker (ABSENTIA) and Mischa Barton (THE SIXTH SENSE). The film, set to lens in Los Angeles this fall, also will include the work of SFX team PRPVFX, who left their mark on the horror genre in last year’s splattery EVIL DEAD remake. You can see the first poster for CLOUDLAND below, and keep an eye out for more updates on CLOUDLAND as they come.
