It has been a while since we’ve had a new shoot from Mischa, but now seeing these photos, its been worth the wait. There are some truly outstanding shots highlighting Mischa’s classic beauty. The beautiful photos are by photographer Benjamin Kanarek.
We’d like to thank Benjamin for allowing us to post the pics on the website. And stay clicked on the Benjamin Kanarek blog for a forthcoming video of the shoot by Frédérique Renaut.

Photos of Mischa at the “Hope Lost” Photocall in Rome have been added. It’s not that common for press to start this early on a movie which is cool to see.

Michael Madsen and Daniel Baldwin will co-star in the crime film from mew [sic] Italian production and finance group AMBI Pictures.
Mischa Barton (The O.C.) and Danny Trejo (Machete Kills) have signed on to star in Hope Lost, a new crime thriller being financed and produced by Italian company AMBI Pictures.
B-movie favorites Michael Madsen (Sin City) and Daniel Baldwin (Vampires) have signed on to co-star in the feature set in the world of sex trafficking. Italian director David Petrucci will helm the feature. Shooting is set to kick off later this month in Rome.
Barton will play a young Romanian girl, bored with small town life, who dreams of entering the glamorous world she sees on Italian soap operas. One night at a club she meets Gabriele, who claims to be a TV producer who wants to cast her in a reality TV show he is making in Italy. But when she arrives, she is sold to the pimp Manol ( Madsen) and forced to make her living on the street. Things get darker with the arrival of Ettore (Trejo), a sadist who makes snuff movies.
AMBI toppers Andrea Iervolino and Monika Bacardi will produce Hope Lost together with Cosetta Turco. Danielle Maloni is the executive producer.
The feature is the latest on AMBI’s slate, which includes the Phillip Roth adaptation The Humbling, which Barry Levinson is attached to direct and has Al Pacino, Mandy Patinkin, Kyra Sedgwick, Charles Grodin and Dianne Wiest attached to star.
The Rome-based group recently wrapped production on the action thriller Sights of Death, which stars Danny Glover, Daryl Hannah and Rutger Hauer alongside Madsen and Stephen Baldwin.

It has been making the rounds across blogs and indie mags over the last few days, so I’m a little late posting. But anyway, here is Mischa’s debut as a cult member of the Church of Nobody as a guest star for Willis Earl Beal’s “Coming Through” video.
It’s kind of equal parts strange as it is funny – but overall it’s a really cool (also creppy) concept. The video runs for over 10 minutes.
Press play on the photo above to view.
Actress Mischa Barton guest stars as a cult member in the video for Willis Earl Beal’s song, ‘Coming Through’.
The 10 minute long video for the Cat Power-featuring song – from last year’s ‘Nobody Knows’ album – sees the former star of The OC as a member of Beal’s Church Of Nobody, a cult-like group based in New Mexico. The video is made up of grainy camcorder footage and veers on the NSFW. Click above to watch the video.
The video features a large scale version of a piece of Beal’s art, called Mischa, why the pencil?. Speaking last year to NME about the drawing, Beal commented: “The concept is really abstract. I think Mischa Barton is pretty attractive, so I drew her and myself stood behind her, but nothing specifically is happening… I’ve drawn quite a few lascivious pictures and there aren’t meant to be themes to them – I guess I’m just a person who likes to draw attractive women.”
A few production stills from Mischa’s upcoming role in Mining for Ruby have been added. The film also stars Billy Zane and Jonathan Bennett.
Jack (Daniel Ponickly, “Mona Lisa Smile”, “Raw Cut”) is a widower struggling with his continued depression as he falls for Ruby (Antoinette Kalaj, “Riddick”, “Don Jon”), a passionate environmental engineering grad student who is embroiled in a poisonous waste controversy. Due to the encouragement of his sister (Mischa Barton, “The OC”, “The Sixth Sense”), Jack finally leaves his Alaskan cabin for the first time in months and meets Ruby, only to be confronted by her crazed ex-boyfriend, Andrew (Jonathan Bennett, “Mean Girls”, “Van Wilder”). Against the warnings of her mentor – Prof. Goodwell (Billy Zane, “Titanic”, “Big Kiss”) – Ruby exposes the city to an environmental crisis, thrusting her grant funding – along with her doctoral research trip – into jeopardy. As their friendship blooms into something deeper, Ruby and Jack discover that love can be found anywhere, even in Alaska.
Wishing Mischa a very Happy Birthday!! She’s currently in London filming a movie, so hopefully she has some free time to fit in a celebration.
Check out this incredible new trailer for Mischa’s upcoming role in A Prayer for Rain. The film is inspired by the real events surrounding the tragic Bhopal disaster. Mischa’s co-stars are Martin Sheen and Kal Penn.
Press play on the photo above to view.
In 1945 Union Carbide Corporation helped build the atomic bomb. In 1984 they built a time-bomb…
Starring Martin Sheen, Mischa Barton, Kal Penn and a powerful ensemble cast, “Bhopal A Prayer For Rain” is an epic, ‘whodunnit’ that exposes the shocking events that led to the biggest man made industrial disaster in history, in which as many as 10,000 people were killed in one night and for those that did survive, the tragedy had just begun.
Dilip, a rickshaw driver in Bhopal, India, lands himself a job at the Union Carbide plant. It is a chance to prove his worth to his family and pull them out of poverty. The job is tough with long hours; everyone is desperate to hold on to their pay cheque and so Dilip keeps quiet when he notices managers at the plant ignoring safety standards.
Dilip’s long time friend, Motwani, a tabloid journalist knows that Bhopal residents complain of the constant stench in the air and wake up at night choking from the gas. He is on a mission to expose what he believes is a deadly time bomb ticking away in his home town. He feels as if no one will listen but when he meets feisty American journalist, Eva, he sees a ray of hope and persuades her to confront Carbide executive Warren Anderson.
As Eva and Motwani endeavour to delve deeper into Carbide’s activities, Dilip is using every resource necessary to pay and plan for his sister’s wedding. When the wedding night arrives the family are full of joy and celebration as two families join together as one. But as the music plays an invisible catastrophe is working its way throughout the town and wedding party. One by one the guests start to feel unwell the largest tower at the Carbide plant spews poisonous gas into the night air; one by one they collapse; and one by one they unknowingly become a statistic in the world’s largest chemical disaster to date.
Nearly thirty years later as the plant stands as a ghost-like constant reminder, the water in Bhopal is still contaminated and one person a day dies as a direct result of the tragedy, Eva visits the now retired Anderson. Will he finally bow down and apologise? Or will he continue to deny that Carbide had any part to play…?
A disaster that set a deadly precedent for multinational corporate activity in the developing world and revealed a poisonous corruption at the heart of India, the world’s largest democracy – this is a story that demands to be seen.
I posted about Mischa’s involvement in this film in the development update a few days ago, but now the role is excitingly receiving some proper press courtesy of Variety.
And how awesome are the pictures showcased above of Mischa’s transformation into other memorable icons from the glory days of Hollywood and beyond. We can’t wait to see Mischa transformed into Jean Harlow.
Here is the story:
Mischa Barton has been cast as Jean Harlow in the biopic “By Love Reclaimed” for ThunderBall Films and Mania Entertainment.
Nuala Barton and Mario Domina are producing “By Love Reclaimed.” Adrian Finkelstein and Valerie Fanich will exec produce.
The script, written by Finkelstein, centers on the 1932 scandal in which MGM producer and Harlow’s husband Paul Bern was found shot to death in their Benedict Canyon Home — two months after Harlow had married him.
Harlow, one of the biggest stars of the 1930s, died in 1937 of kidney failure.
Barton, who is currently in London filming “The Hoarder,” recently wrapped the indie feature “Starcrossed.” She is repped by Artist International and Adam Trahan.
