First Review – I Will Follow You Into the Dark

With the premiere screening of I Will Follow You Into the Dark now over, check out a glowing extract of Mischa’s performance from the first review of the movie.

As Sophia, Mischa Barton is strong, confident and cynical; you gravitate towards and understand Sophia’s emotions, her hesitancy at attachment and then her fervent desire to hold on once she crosses the emotional bridge and allows herself to care, connect and love with Adam. What makes Barton’s performance such a standout, however, is that THANKFULLY, she maintains that fervor and determination once Adam disappears and they head up to the 21st floor. There is never any sign of panic. She remains confident and rational in her resolve. Barton’s performance as a strong woman in a supernatural setting ranks right up there with Sarah Michelle Gellar’s Buffy while her emotional cadence as a woman battling her own heart and mind is exquisite.

Into the Dark – International Trailer

Here is the international trailer for Mischa’s upcoming film Into the Dark co-starring Ryan Eggold and Leah Pipes. Thanks to Caleb for the tip! This trailer shows a lot more footage and plot than the original cut.

Into the Dark Updated Poster

Here is the updated sales poster for Mischa’s upcoming film Into the Dark aka I Will Follow You Into the Dark.

I’m kinda disappointed they are going with “Into the Dark” as the title on these sales posters. “I Will Follow You Into the Dark” is a lot less generic sounding and is also a Death Cab for Cutie song title which is a little connection to The O.C.

A young woman (Mischa Barton) who is severely depressed after the deaths of both her parents retreats within herself, only to be drawn out of her depression by an unexpected romance with a man named Adam (Ryan Eggold). This looks really cool, reminds me a little of a recent-ish movie called Insidious (starring Rose Byrne and Patrick Wilson) which I thought was a really effective thriller/horror.
