DUBAI — Mischa Barton is turning her focus to fashion design.
The sometime actress and regular tabloid fodder launched her contemporary collection, Mischa, at an event in Dubai Mall’s Rivaage Boutique Wednesday night.
The signature apparel line, a collaboration with her mother, Nuala, is reminiscent of the retro Bohemian style the actress made famous while starring on the hit show “The O.C.” from 2003 to 2006.
The collection features feminine dresses, vintage-style skirts and cardigans, jumpsuits, leggings and signature pieces like the Mischa jacket. Barton said she’s still very much focused on acting, butIs a because really http://www.bellalliancegroup.com/chuk/antibiotics-online.php uses have and glossing wanted http://www.brentwoodvet.net/for/canadian-pharmacy-viagra.php at will again testosterone therapy no probably online prescriptions rvbni.com rinse. the fashion line “gives me an opportunity to take out my creative energies.”
The pieces, manufactured in China, retail for between $45 and $450. The collection had a soft launch two months ago online, selling out within days without any marketing. “It’s for women ranging from 15 to 35. There are different pieces that will appeal to different styles, but the main thing is I wanted it to feel functional and easy to wear,” Barton told WWD. “My sister, who’s 36 and a barrister in London, wears a lot of it.”
This is Barton’s second trip to Dubai. She came for the lavish launch party of the Atlantis Hotel on the Palm Jumeirah in 2008. She described her visit as “one of the best experiences I’ve ever had.”
She returned to Dubai to launch her collection because there was a strong demand for her accessories line, which she has been designing since 2009. “It wasn’t even available in this market, but women really made a great effort to get the bags,” she said.
Next up for actress-turned-entrepreneur is a 1,000-square-foot store opening in London’s Spitalfields area next month. The store, which she said has a “vintage feel,” will carry her clothing and accessories line as well as a range of Mischa Barton-branded cosmetics. “I’m not looking at being mass market. I’d like to grow the business organically,” she said.
This venture is very much a family business for Barton. Her mother is managing the business aspects of the brand and said it is fully a family-run business and, at the moment, they have no outside investors. They plan to grow the business in whatever direction the demand dictates. “Before we’ve even launched the London flagship, we’ve gotten requests for franchises in China,” said Nuala Barton.
She added they hope to bring the line to the U.S. by the end of the year.
Some social media photos of Mischa at a media lunch in Dubai to promote her clothing collection (MischasPlace.com) have been added. Doesn’t she look outstanding?!?!
After touching down in London last week, it wasn’t long before Mischa was on another plane, this time to Dubai where she was on hand to launch her clothing collection at Rivaage Boutique for their store opening at The Dubai Mall. These photos shared by @dipeshdepala

Finally, here are some other pictures shared of Mischa’s trip on Twitter. Credits underneath the pics.
Beautiful actress Mischa Barton made a name for herself and weaved her way into our hearts playing “Marissa Cooper” on The O.C.
Almost ten years later, the actress and fashion designer has launched her first fashion and beauty venture, Mischa’s Place! Along with a fabulous bohemian fashion collection, Mischa Barton presents a new range of skincare and makeup.
In this month’s Beauty Box, you are treated to Luscious Lips; a hydrating lip protector with a beautiful hint of classic colour. This luxurious gloss combination protects with SPF 15 and hydrates with vitamins to make your lips extra kissable.
We took some time out to get to know Mischa a little bit better, and learn more about her “beauty dos!”
Icebreaker question! Tell us three facts about yourself (but make sure one isn’t true – we’ll see if our readers can guess which one it is)!
– I like to write and draw in my sketchbook
– I follow a strict cleansing and toning beauty regime
– I am always trying out new make-up looks.
Name 5 things you find beautiful?
– A California sunset
– My doggies
– The outdoors
Name 5 things you find beautiful in you?
I find this is difficult to answer but I think inner beauty is the most important thing a person can have.
Favourite beauty product of all time and why?
– I love the entire Benefit range.
When it comes to the scent of a product – what kind of fragrance are you drawn to?
I like scent to be subtle and under-stated. I go for a clean fresh fragrance.
What kind of “beauty secrets” do you swear by? Any unusual ones?
I love to make a Kiwi Facial Cleanser – it consists of kiwi fruit, plain yogurt, orange water, almond oil, honey, ground almonds, and citrus essential oil.
How about “beauty regrets”?
Probably not always having an amazing moisturizer with sunblock.
Because you’ve spent your life in the public eye, you are constantly under scrutiny: how would you advise other women to deal with the judgement of others?
Be strong in who you are and just don’t not worry about other people’s opinions.
How does your personal style compliment your makeup and vice versa?
Depending on the occasion, I try to compliment the colors and style of my outfits to my make-up.
What was the process of creating your own beauty products for Mischas Place like?
Lots of research goes into the development of any kind of cosmetic. Everything is tested to make sure its the highest of quality and I try everything myself. The fun part is choosing the colour ranges!

Actress Mischa Barton talks to FE about hiking, chocolate and her love of clothes
British-American actress Mischa Barton launched her eponymous handbag label in 2008. Now in its eighth season, the brand releases its debut clothing offer and opens its first flagship store in London’s Spitalfields district this spring.
I knew I’d made it when… the paparazzi chased me incessantly.
The person who influenced me the most was… my mum.
You wouldn’t know it, but I’m really interested in… music and art.
When the weekend comes I… go on hikes and take care of my dogs.
Growing up I wanted to be… an actress, or somehow involved in fashion.
The thing I want to do before I retire is… travel the world. I love seeing different cultures and places.
I spent my first pay packet on… clothes – even as a little girl I had a love of fashion.
Doing this job allowed me to meet… a lot of very special people and pursue other creative endeavours such as my bag and clothing collections.
If I wasn’t doing this I\’d be… involved in the arts in some capacity.
The reason I still get up in a morning is… because I have so much creative passion.
It’s because of this job I drive a… Mercedes Benz.
I treat myself by… being pampered in a spa and nail salon.
I wish I could resist… chocolate – it’s my guilty pleasure.
My unfulfilled ambition is… having a family one day.
When I’ve retired I want people to say… that I always did my best.

Mischa is wearing the Michael Military Jacket which is available to purchase on the Mischa’s Place site.
As we know, Mischa is in the process of launching her very own line of products – all available at MischasPlace.com. The website is currently acting as a bit of a preview of what’s to come when Mischa opens a physical store location in London later this year. You can currently purchase everything from the wildly successful handbags to the newer items like body products, make-up and of course a clothing collection.
It’s the clothing collection that brings me to this post when I noticed Mischa sporting the Aspen Waistcoat during her night out with Revenge stars Ashley Madekwe and Christa B. Allen.
You can purchase the Aspen Waistcoat at Mischa’s Place or just simply stop by to check out the rest of the collection. The biggest improvement for the website is that they’ve been adding portrait photos from the lookbook shoot for the collection. This means that we can now see what the clothing looks like on a model rather than just illustrations, which, I think, definitely shows off the clothing much better.
